By stealth, English has become Europe’s unofficial lingua franca. Irrespective of language spoken, we know that communication is an art, complete with hidden codes and cues.
Sometimes, mixed cultural cues have hilarious results. When this happens in English, the consequences can be even more curious, because we Europeans have developed a form of Euro-English, and when this is mixed with English spoken by native speakers from different parts of the English speaking world, the result can be… very interesting!
